wow you built up all that content and didn't back any of it up?
let that be a lesson for ya!
also i wouldnt use cdrws for djing... lots of clubs you *might* spin at in the future dont have decks that can read cdrws-
as for your problem- sounds crazy- try recording on your computer from your home stereo or something, see if it does the same thing |
I won't accept any gigs where I'm not using cdj's, so its null. Plus im viced enough in Traktor and have it as a backup for several reasons.
Yeah I keep everything on my external, somehow a virus got in there though. Gonna need to buy like a terabyte external that doesnt even get touched except for backup purposes. You live and learn right? Plus im not too upset because the mixes will be better anyways second time around, I did those in one shot and never put any planning into them, something I do much differently now.

Pretty sure he means that some cdjs won't read rewritable discs, some only read the write once kind. |
I just would find it a lack of respect if a club used less than the industry standard and wanted me to play there. There are plenty of gigs available I see no reason to take something I don't see eye to eye with.

Does your rider say you need 30 bottles of Grey Goose and a private room for your groupies?

Hmm, sounds like something was loose. I take it the track normally doesn't sound like that?
Basically, I wouldn't be too concerned unless it happens again. |
That's what I thought too. Said fuck it re-recorded and done with it. Not like mixing isn't fun lol.
And to the people above, the reason why I stated that about the club is that I do this solely for myself. Not for an attempt at being famous, certainly not for money, and not for any other reason either. I don't need to dj in clubs to be happy. Not a huge fan of destroying my ears as well.
Music is my one true love. Not just trance music. Everything. From jazz, to classical, to rock, to metal, to older hip hop/rap, the only thing I don't listen to is country. No woman, no amount of money...nothing will ever replace music for me.
So before you go clowning on me realize I don't give a fuck about gay ass night clubs. Although if it were my main goal to play in clubs I would be slightly insulted a club wants me to play on equipment worse than my own. If I can spend the 5k on my setup, why the fuck can a club not do so as well? Takes money to make money.
Fyi I don't even like grey goose, it is a product of marketing at its finest. I'll take absolute and many other midshelf brands over it anyday.
Hopefully cleared some things up.

First off, your use of the word "gay," only shows your ignorance. Second, think of where your trance music would be without decades worth of nightclubs, and their influence on the music. |
You're an american, you know that it is slang, come on now.
You do have a point but you realize MOST (not all) trance that is played SHOULDNT be played in night clubs. I'd say 75% of the genre is stuff that shouldn't ever be heard in a nightclub (minus an opening set or afterhours).
Please don't take offense to my thoughts they are just my opinion, no need to get bent out of shape.
