not really answering your question but i think your solution has less to do with the synths and more to do with your mixing. The actual question is fullest synth in a mix and is really dependent on the other elements. People that use the word fat and full don't understand that those are the synths that are the hardest to actually fit in the mix and are the synths you end up having to carve away with eq to make it fit, you will realise you don't need a full synth to have it sounding full in a mix.

I agree.

It's nice to have a phat sounding synth, I prefer Trilogy for my basslines, but all of what you say is true.
