Plenty of abusive women too!!! How many women get off with murdering their husbands because they were "stressed"/"abused"?

A women in my home town got off with that, stabbed the guy to death with a knife. The whole town knew they argued equally but she gets off straight out.

And plenty of other abusive women. It's not so one sided.

In the end if you stay with someone and you're an adult then really it is your choice to an extent, but proper cuts/bruises violence should never be let to happen by either party.

I'm aware of that, and I agree...but with woman abuse especially, it seems like people are all like "Oh no! Hush hush, let's not talk about her obvious issues because she's so fragile, and how dare we suggest that she have any part in it."

Clearly she has some kind of sickness as well, no?

edit: I'm not in any way suggesting any person deserves abuse. Just saying that it seems like nobody ever wants to examine the possibility that the woman has issues as well. At least not out in the open.

Its probably a sign of systemic abuse that has infiltrated the women's life since she was a small girl and probably has been the same for her mother and her mothers mother.

The same can be said for the man as well, most of the time people don't randomly start abusing people for no good reason. It was probably something he saw his father do to his mother, or maybe his father did to him...

Humans are a sick creature of influence most of the time. Things that we are exposed to as children will often bare some sort of affect on our lives as we grow older, no matter how small it is. It just requires that people try their best to concur their internal conflicts and do what society says is the right thing, which hopefully is the global consensus on what is morally/ethically right.

See Will, thats how you ride the fence...

but i have a hard time sympathizing with women who return to abusive men. i can understand going back after a very isolated drunken blowout or something and maybe the guy just lost it and got physical and didn't remember, but just going back to a guy who constantly treats you like dirt AND abuses you is just fucking lame and weak.

why would you understand going back after a drunken blowout?

adults don't use being drunk as an excuse for their actions.

if it happens once, it will happen again end of story.

bitch needs to have some self worth and not accept that treatment no matter what sorry.

Materialism?
Myself, I've been going out to the dealerships for the previous week looking for THE CAR, Acura, Infiniti and all that stuff. I'm thinking to myself right now, if one of the agents came to me and said "hey honey, had a bad day today. If I tie you up to a chair, and I beat you to a bloody pulp, take your glasses and break them in half, and then spit in your mouth and gag you until you swallow my load, I will let you walk off the lot with this brand new black G35. But you gotta come back tomorrow so I can buy you some new dark saucer glasses, maybe some clothes, jewelry and some sweet stuff to make up for all the bad things I'm going to do to you today", I would say, "Do it."

From the cases I've seen it's the other way round. Really a women getting beaten up/abused basically gets the moral outrage of the community (and they know people will support her if she outs him). Where as a guy, is he going to tell anyone? If he did would he get supported or mocked? (hence why I think it's less noticed)

Plus if she hits him and he hits her back........ who is the big bad abuser? You know that the guy is going to get raked over the coals for "hitting a poor women". And thats always a factor with decent guys, women know they can hit you without getting hit back. People will even sometimes just see it as an independent strong women "teaching the man right".

The double standards are bullshit.
