Actually we mispelled it on purpose for search engine reasons. The same way my dj name is a unique word that only gets someone who googles me and a quebec kayak club.

This year's Pheonix should surpass last year's, as we have a much bigger generator, more lights, more speakers, and even our very own surprise no-show from last year, Danny Taylor. I am also happy about the locals. Vlado, once a staple in the Vancouver rave scene with Solid Corp, is coming out of 2 year retirement to "juice our titties". His words. And of course our other djs are great too, even that scoundrel AqvaYak.

Also we visited the location today and everything looks good!

Directions and party info on their way, so stay tuned for more news.

See you all at the party!

Phoenix - Aug 8 – Same Location as last year.

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...7ffcd7ba12&z=15

Site #2 on the map

From Vancouver

Head east into mission via Dewdney trunk road. Just inside of Mission you will reach a dam site at the southern tip of Stave Lake. Do not cross the dam; instead make a left turn at Burma St. (Google maps BURMA STREET, MISSION, BC if you need help). Burma St. is a logging/electrical road that accesses the west side of the lake and several campgrounds.

Our site is approximately 11.5 km down Burma St. Be careful on this road; though it has few potholes it is quite slippery. You will cross 4 or 5 single lane bridges. Each km is clearly marked by a sign along the side of the road. Bear left at the children's recovery center at approximately 8km.

At around 11km you will reach a fork with a yellow sign with an arrow pointing right for pipe delivery and a fork going uphill. Go uphill. Our sign has the Phoenix on it and you will see the party site on the right hand side. Please park intelligently and pay the entrance fee of $5 per person.

Things you should know:

- Any food or beverages you chose to bring are acceptable; however there will also be reasonably priced non-alcoholic drinks available:
- Pop and water will be for sale on site for $2 each or 4 water for $5/ 3 pop for $5.
- Once we run out, we run out.
- Protect yourself from possible police road checks. Don’t have open or visible liquor in the car on the way to the site. After all, open liquor is against the law.
- The region has a campfire ban. There will be no campfires at our site.
- Weapons such as knives, shotguns, anti-tank mines and flame throwers are prohibited.
- This is turning into a popular event. Obey the party marshal with regards to parking and behave responsibly.
- There is no end time for this event. If you are under the influence, please stay the night and wait until it is safe to drive again. No one will kick you out of the site.
- There are no washrooms on site. Bring TP. For ladies who forget, TP is available at concession free of charge.
- Pick up your trash. There will be recycling and trash bags out.
- Other non-party people will be in the area. They like to use ATVs and dirt bikes. Watch your driving speed.

WAY TOO MUCH FUN!!!!!!

Sean and the boys, don't give up on this party, you guys are killing it! The sound was spectactular, better than a lot of parties and even clubs at the moment. Stage set-up was perfect, area was great, vibe was top notch.... just all around and amazing party.

Thanks for bringing me out... I will DEFINITELY be attending next year, no questions asked. It was way cool seeing everybody again, Tristan, Alex (wicked meeting you mate) Sean, Shawn, Vlad, Lea, Hedz, Greggy, god I missed all you !

Wicked sets from what I heard, Vlad sounded great, I heard Greg was killing it as well. Danny played a great set as always. I just wish I could of hung around a bit longer!

Cheers boys and girl, the next party could not happen soon enough!

haha "Hedz".

I have to say I had a BLAST!
it was shorter then last year for me, but it was still amazing! Bryan,Vlad,Greg,Sean & Danny's set were EPIIIIIIIICCC!!!!

Bryan with that little "lethal industry" mashup of his,
Greg dropping classics like 'Silence','As the rush comes'..
Vlad totally surprised me by playing Insigma - Open your eyes (Sean Tyas remix).. , if you were around me YOU SAW me goin ape shit for this hahah!
& Sean always drops the sikkkest classic tracks that I KNOW I have heard before but can never remember the names.. lol.
Too bad I missed Mark's set , Im sure it was great as always!

Anyway,
i think Sean and his crew worked super hard for this and the turn out was great.
as long as Im in town I will attend this event every single year!
I had a greeeeeeeat time and lookin fwd to next years already

*resists urge to post 1,000,000 pages worth of insignificant rediculously miniscule details...fckin' MEMROIRES (spelling ) from the mind of anjunagirl*

okay, Lea. FOCUS. resist the urge. FIGHT IT. short & sweet. i can DO this, guys. here we go:

- it was really nice to see everyone again; the ones who came, again.
- the sound was suh-weeeet! shawn, you're REALLY great @ what you do. so, you should feel VERY proud of a job well done, yet again, & give yourself a HUGE pat on the back.
- the lighting was really great & added immensely to the auora of the event.
- i'm already on the way up again for next year; leaving after i write this review. aaaahaha. find my skeleton in a year's time.
- greg's set = MIND-BLOWN. it was all pumpin' gareth emery-style ch00ns from '07/'08: this is that, "mahhhkus schuuulz - daydream (lemon & einar k remix)", i.d. remix of silence, a duderstadt track/remix (...lol. not much help; eh? ), etc. SO GOOD & got me PUMPED for the boat on aug 21st. he played "aalto - 5" for me. 'twas his closer. he did that last year @ cyber, too. you guys treat me very well. thank you, kindly to everyone who always gives me my anjuna fix. i really love it. =)
- vlado's mini set: "Insigma - Open Your Eyes (Sean Tyas Got Piano Remix)" <-- i put this in 1 of my few trancrobics mixes & made me lol to hear it while not teaching a class. xD hedz, we were flipping out! 'cause we heard it on the way there. xD god damn. such a fierce track. my god.
- bryan's set: interesting mashup of his of an i.d. electro track & "T13st0R - Lethal Industry", "Lost Witness (Feat. Tiff Lacey) - Home (Mike Shiver's Catching Sun Mix)" (i wuv mike shiver ), "Mr. Pit - Shana (Duderstadt Remix)", & ended w/ "Maor Levi - Reflect" <-- *hugs anjuna hoodie*
- danny taylor's set: "a.v.b. - unforiveable" <-- always very cute to sing to; same w/ "d.j. shah (feat. adrina thorpe) - who will find me (original summer sunrise mix)", some really abstract vocal piece that I heard back in a Sean Tyas set @ the end of '06, & ended w/ "Dogzilla - Without You", which i believe you ended w/. i remembered more ch00ns you played when hedz & i got back here around 7. but not any more. =( but it was really nice finally to meet'cha, danny! =)
- the sean vs. vlado set: yay sean! more classics for us! ep to the ic. ep-ic.

^^ 1st post/visit back here since apr '09. *pokes signature* been a little pre-occupied as of late. =P

I still haven't gone home yet, at the gf's place.

First off, I once again want to thank Sean, Shawn, Mark and everyone else who helped put and pull this together, including the volunteers I didn't get to meet that helped clean up and do concession, and I want to thank them for inviting me to play. I had an awesome time, much better than last year. I loved the new stage location at the same site. I never saw the Phoenix sign at the fork this year, good thing the three girls in my car convinced me to take the left fork (was at the 11.2km or w/e point, so we figured go left and uphill like the instructions said)!

Was so incredible meeting people I haven't seen in ages, including Lea, Hediyeh, Bryan, Danny, Vlado the destroyer of clubs but thankfully not party tents, Alex, Tristan, Kas and everyone else I may at the moment be unfortunately neglecting. The turn out wasn't as big as I would have hoped for after all the work these boys put into getting this show together, with a good number of people there being from campsites in the area, but I still had a blast and unfortunately I had to leave earlier to get everyone home safely.. and seeing how it poured sunday morning, i'm glad i didn't tent it this year. I'll be back again next year for sure!

Lea, you got 2 of the tracks right, well 1 right and put two of those together. I don't see anyone else posting tracklists, so I won;t, you can pm me if you're curious. Yeah a lot of 08 tracks, as my computer hasn't worked right for a month, and the week prior to the party, my hard drive with ALLLL of my music crashed so I had nothing new. But I got a couple of tracks off of beatport at the last second and edited them. I played Jan Johnston - Sleeping Satellite (Kenneth Thomas Remix) (Greg Corbett Edit), and BT - Flaming June (Randy Boyer Remix) and oldies like PAFF - From King to Finch (Greg Corbett Club Edit), Dirty Dot - Heart of Pain (Monogato Remix - Greg Corbett Club Edit). =)
