Hah, I too was about post this exact topic as well as I just recently got into ableton and ordered my uc-33e controller last night.

So the audiofire 4 looks like the route I'll be taking. Also, retarded question but I'm never really that good at hooking stuff up, would I route the soundcard through the midi controller to the laptop or how exactly does it connect up?

setup your outputs via ableton. set your midi controller up via ableton's preferences, go to midi assign in ableton and start assinging your pots and faders away.
