ID love to DJ, but im going to produce some remixes in my spare tiem first. just remixes dust.wav but it aint that good, so gunna try sunburn instead

remixes are the best way to get quick money, however to be able to get remixes done you'll probably have to produce at least one own track first.

Well, I have heard of Oakenfold and PvD both getting paid in the 25,000+ USD range before, and that is for one night. Sometimes, PvD will even play multiple places the same night (different states even) and collect massive amounts of money at each party, so he could make close to 100k if he really works on it.

As for local DJ's, there are a few big name local dj's in my area who charge between $500-1000 a night, but they only spin once a month or so.

But unless you are really good, you dont have a clue. And even being good is not good enough, you have to be recognized. At least in my area, unless your name, and your name alone will draw thousands of party kids, you wont get paid shit.

So if you want to do it for a career, dont. Get a real job, just do it for the fun, and if you make it, good for you. :-)

The radio for me is a good method....did a few trks amd sibmitted to the radio station and they play it every know and then.......I'm just waiting to produce the ultimate trk that will blow everyone at the station away and atleast get me known in the local area....After you get recognized in the local area.....word spreads.....

yeah, I'm getting one of my tracks played at a local nightclub on the 7th.. it's a good start, if the crowd likes it, the radio DJ guy there will bring it on the radio.. from there, who knows what will happen

Producing a track takes alot of time and hard work, but once you get that first track on vinyl, it should get alot easier from there.

mp3.com is free.. they do have the Premium Artist Service, which costs $20 a month.. and with that you get fast song approvals, and high prority search results.

I used that service for a while, and it was really good, I got around 80 listens/downloads a day.

and back then I was actually MAKING money from mp3.com .. about $40 US a month.. subtract $20 for the service.. but $20 is better than none. But then.. they went and got sued,, and started being cheap, and decreased how much u get paid per listen/download.. so I cancelled the service. now I get only a few listens per day, but I dont really care.. after getting 15,000 listens and downloads, it got my name around abit, but thats about all. Im focusing on sending a Demo cd to lables now.. should be more effective than mp3.com

I responded earlier to this thread by saying I heard PVD got Somewhere around $18,000 for spinning in Las Vegas. Am I the only only one who thinks its insane to dish out that kind of money? I've been to events where AVB, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten where spinning and half the people didn't even know who they were.
