It's alright; If you've ever worked in retail they always hang up a sign in the breakroom comparing types of customers ("This is the quiet and polite customer. This is the worst customer because when you do something wrong, they won't complain, but they'll also never come back") haha... That's me, I don't really cause a fuss, especially with the girls around, who one of them was a close friend and the other I want to be a close more than friends Unfortunately, can't really compete with the 35 year old Saudi and Dubai guys who pollute this place with their shady money and have underage girls all over them. C'est la vie, didn't have much fun even aside from the drinks, so I'm probably never going back again, not even for Roger Sanchez next week...
The one good thing is I found my new favorite cologne (in the bathroom), and just bought a bottle of it, it's banging... |
I have the same personality...i won't say that something is wrong when i know its wrong. however, unlike you, i will go back to cielo...who can say know to cielo...they can lose my coat and charge me double for drinks, and i would be happy...because unlike other places, people are there to have fun, not make pretentious, and overtly misleading, manifestations of themselves.
looks like i had some epiphany...

Re: I Think I Got Stiffed at Cielo

So I was at Cielo this past Thursday and I was having a great time, and ended up passing out in the car on the way home because of the sheer exhaustion from drinking and dancing -- nights at Cielo have a tendency of doing this to people. In any event, everything was all good until I saw my debit card statement, which to had two separate charges at Cielo (one for 28.80 and another for 34.80). Now, granted, this wasn't a lot of money, but I was paying cash for all my drinks until I wanted to buy more. I vividly remember only buying two drinks and a bottle of voss water. Now, I know something is fishy because there is mathematically no way to get an amount of 34.80 at Cielo when they charge the minimum 20% tip unless...
2 drinks @ 12 = 24
+ 20% tip = 28.80
+ $6 dollars for the bottle of water = 34.80
In essence, what must have happened was I was authorized for $28.80 (with tip, and then reauthorized for 34.80 because he forgot to add the water). Either way, the transactions are declared as final on my debit card and I, and my friends, are certain that I did not buy more drinks after closing out my tab. And, after inspecting my pockets, I only found a receipt for the 34.80 amount and not the 28.80 (which only serves to verify my cost analysis above).
Its kind of unfortunate for me to lose 28.80 for no reason. So for those of you who know, is there any way to find out what happened? Is there way to look at the time of the transaction? |
I'm not sure what bank you have but Citibank would let you dispute one of the charges, and they would view the time etc and possibly credit you as a courtesy if you have an account in good standing.

Have the charges cleared yet? If they haven't, I'd wait until they post first.
If it's still pending, I'm sure they charged you a 2nd time that includes the tip and the original charge will be dropped.
