From what I understand that is the case with a majority of the other countries through out the world. EDM is all they play in the clubs. I find it kind of strange that the US can't get away from "Hip Hop" and "Rap".
I don't know... I just don't understand how you can listen to a song and the whole thing is just Fuck this and Fuck that, I'm high, I'm drunk, I got bitches, I'm hyphe, I'm ghost ridin my whip, etc... etc.
This vid does make dance music look stupid, but so does that DJ. Total douche bag on the decks. Funny IMO

Actually hip-hop sales are at their lowest point to date. Less hiphop record stores than ever before as well. Hiphop and rap producers have all been turning to EDM for inspiration and all it's been doing is getting people in to accepting EDM more.
I think one of the reasons he did this commercial was an attempt to take an aggressive stance on the subject - like eminem tried to: "no body listens to techno", but actually many more people, especially internationally, DO listen to "techno" and less listen to hiphop.
Yes, hiphop may not be dead in the underground now, but go back five/ten years and EDM was that underground thing while hiphop was the main flavor.
As I said, wait until you hear the new black eyed peas album - it might be mainstream fodder but it indicates that one of the biggest hiphop(pop) acts have made a move for EDM.
