The line was bad, so that is something they would have to work on. I'd go see Tiesto there again if the conditions were right. He really disappointed a lot of people with that show. The venue itself wasn't bad though.
i have no idea how people were dissapointed..he played a set with a lot of underground tracks and not much from his cheesey new artist cd. I despise many of his productions but as a dj i think he hits hard and that night in my opinion i guess he was good. The adagio for strings closing with throwing his headphones in the crowd...that was a great way to end it.

Well, as a normal dj set, it wasn't bad. It had been hyped as being this amazing show and I don't think it lived up to the expectations. It was hyped to be a very long set. I think a lot of us were expecting a 4 hour set if not longer. I mean, why would you put the opening dj back on for the last 2 hours? There had even been some discussion of guest vocals and things like that.

As far as your review, I did think he did ok. It was nothing memorable for me. Yes, Elements of Life had some cheese on it, but I really enjoyed when he dropped the title track. I think adagio for strings is kind of overrated, but it is one of his most well known, so it made all the fans happy. Honestly though, I feel there are so many djs better than him. He's one of the few that I believe could actually fill up that place though. That would be the only trouble with this venue. Or if you have an event with a bunch of headline djs or something like that.

yeah the title track for elements of life is smokin hot. When that dropped in the beginning with the nudish girls on the screen letting sand drip through their fingers...that was pretty epic. The screen show was awesome and that had to cost a fortune setting all that up. I had a good time despite being depressed over missing last call after a 40 min wait.

I was disappointed because the set was so short. He didn't even play 3 hours...how could you think it was close to 4 hours? Ian James played from 3:15'ish to close. And he opened until about 12:45'ish.

i agree with the post before

i think part of the reason it didnt live up to expectations was because the show got so much hype leading up to the show (ie. guest vocals, extended set, etc.) i was mostly disappointed he only played for a short time (going in there i thought it would be a 4+ hour show). add a few more lights/screens for the next show and i think it will be a good one. and about the sound, i cant really remember what i thought about the actual sound, but i do remember the promoter mentioning that he brought in the best sound system for the show.

Tiesto never has guest vocals unless he's in concert. But i feel what you guys are saying. Honestly i thought he played from 12:20 - 4:00. Maybe im wrong here.

I'm positive he stopped well short of 4. I left around 4:15, and Ian James had been on for a while. The show came well short of my expectations. He played a much techier set than he had in previous years, which didn't meet the theme of the show which was Elements of Life and In Search of Sunrise 6.

Between the lack of trance trance and then stopping so early in what I was expecting to go on until 5, made my experience that whole night pretty weak.

What's the difference between a show and being in concert?

a show is a booking. His concerts are planned shows advertised for a long ass time with him spinning a super long ass set with guest vocalists, dancers, effects, the whole nine. Basically the same thing as armin's armin only night, or ferry's full on ferry night. I have never been to any of them sadly.

your most likely right about the time thing. On tiesto we got very different views...i actually like tiesto the most out of the trance big names for that exact reason...cause he incorporates a lot of techy stuff, progressive stuff and even house in his sets. Of course he still brings the trancey anthems..he has to. With armin and sadly even markus now..their sets reflect the top ten beatport sales. Not to say i dont like that, i do entirely and both throw down really good sets and i enjoyed myself to the max. They just are taking less chances than previously and are staying very much to solid known anthem tracks. As far as diversity goes...tiesto, gareth emery, and matt darey are the ones pushing that in trance music.

even if you look at markus's set list for atlanta...where's the progressive stuff ? There is none and that's part of his signature coldharbour sound. Im glad the big T keeps it trill.
