Yes. That's the one plugin I was going to mention as having a similar sound as EchoBoy.

Can someone put up a few comparisons between, say, some synth melodies with EchoBoy on it and the same melody with a normal multi-tap filter delay? I want to hear for myself whether this effect is even close to being worth the money. My old version of Ableton isn't supported by SoundToys, plus the site won't even let me download the demo, so I'd like to hear the difference if someone wouldn't mind taking the time...

I have no doubt that the SoundToys are fine plugins for everyday use and I will definitely give the EchoBoy demo a fair shake, but as I indicated in the original post, I'm not looking for a bread-n-butter delay that fits in the mix or sounds "nice" because I've got plenty of those in other bundles that I already own. I'm specifically looking for something that jumps out of the mix, can scare small children with out-of-this-world f@#*ed-up craziness, guarantees that my song will never get any airtime on adult contemporary radio stations, and that will only be used sparingly for wild vocal effects, occasional percussion loop mangling, etc.

Right, I understand. I wasn't attempting to say it met with your specific criteria. I just got the impression that you were thinking that EchoBoy was just an expensive, run of the mill delay, which it isn't.

Incidentally, if you combine it with the FilterFreak and Crystalizer plugins (also in the bundle), it can do some nasty things to the sound.

Gotcha. When I wrote "...For a relatively basic delay?!...", I was referring more to it being a conventional delay, rather than a sound-mangling beast.

Reaktor is really the best thing I think for you... or just grab a send, put the delay on and then use other effects on top to twist it up.

It sounds like what you really want though (and samples of what you want might have helped) is less of a delay and more of a buffer shuffler, where the plugin samples the audio then samples it and throws it back out.

You might have a look at NI spektral delay as well, that might be up your alley...
