Which is why most trance producers and ex trance fans are now listening to MINIMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easier on the knees and very hypnotic and no one waving unicorns and glow sticks in your face while you're grooving...

Consider yourself lucky.. I enjoy listening to the Hook type of trance from some 10 years ago (see Deniro - Peak Rush), but there's virtually nothing in current-day trance that resembles it (or am I not looking hard enough?), so I have to remain stuck in the past.

The reason I don't like most trance anymore is the lack of originality within the genre and the feeling that most trance music is over-produced and could use a lot less than what it normally has.

I like Trance mostly because of the melody and also because of the culture. One hasn't really known trance until they have been to a rave or have seen a live performance by a world-famous DJ like AvB or Tiesto, These DJs have MILLIONS of fans and they are known worldwide, something rock bands or singers have a tough time accomplishing. Also, trance is made for dancing, you really can't help but dance to a song when you hear it. What is rock good for...headbanging? Also, trance isn't really THAT repetative when compared to something like Techno. THAT is repetetive.

I don't completely agree with that 'really known' part. I heard trance in the mid 90's at home and in a club with a smaller Trance/Techno area (1000 people). I think that was close to huge rave's or live performance. I'm sure some resident DJ's are equal or better than some known ones.

I rather return to happy hardcore or eurohouse than minimal...but I don't think I'll need to, I can alway start listening the too many cd's I have bought......

Ive been told that trance is repetetive by so many people, i just argue with them til they walk away. They clearly don't get it.

Trance *is* repetitive. It uses one to four bar melodies that play over and over again, often with a regular filter modulation pattern.

People who don't like repetitive music won't like trance. Simple as that.

Don't listen to them, mate. Keep trancing it up. Just don't forget to exhale occasionally.
