I've seen those comparisons before. The test was done by the creator of one of the free programs, so I don't put much stock in the results. Keying tracks can be subjective so it's easy to skew the results any way you want. I think it's far more important how well you can mix with the results.

I find that Mixed in Key gets it wrong about 20% of the time. Usually it just gets a song confused with it's relative major/minor, or the next fifth over, but sometimes it's way way off.

Your ear is truly the best way to key tracks. Learning some basic music theory will improve your mixing by leaps and bounds, because you will be able to change keys in creative ways rather than just going by what you have your tunes labeled as. You will also learn to trust your instincts more.

ear??? wtf? i can not tell what fucking note a tune is in and im known for heaving a good ear lol. i just assume all tracks are in C Minor and then transposed up and down hahaha.

What? You expect people to just make you software for free? Plenty of people do give their software away for free but if someone wants compensation for their efforts who are you to tell them they should be doing it for free?
