I'm glad someone brought up the security because similar thing happened to us. A friend of mine brought her ID and credit card she used to purchase her ticket, but the security wouldn't let her in because they wanted the confirmation printout. She showed the guy the email using her iPhone and even then he gave her a hard time and only let her in citing that this is an "exception". I personally think that was BS. They've never required the printout at RS in all the times I've been there. But it was my first time at TORQ, so I don't know if this is standard practice so maybe someone can provide a rationale behind this.

Having said that, what made the night were a great set by Kyau & Albert and the vibe of the crowd. The crowd was obviously different from the "RS crowd" which is a good thing.

03.15 Simon Patterson [Avalon]

i'm not too big of a fan of them, but it was by far the best set i've heard live from kyau & albert and they integrated the crowd pleasers nicely without over doing it. also one of the biggest crowds i've seen at torq so far, and everyone was having a blast in general starting their weekend early. i'll have pics up soon.

Ruby Skye doesn't require a print out of a online ticket purchase.
( since that can obviously be photoshoped to whatever date or show or name )

The work of a master list at the door, generated from presales and match up ID. so obviously something else had to have happened there..
Ruby Skye runs the tightest and best security in the bay area, so something else must have been up...

You would be amazed how many fake IDs, student IDs, other peoples IDs that get caught every night there..

This is what I thought, which is why what happened that night was inexplicable. We were all over 21 and the guy decided to pick on the one person who didn't have a hard ticket. She had a California driver's license and the credit card used to buy her ticket. The guy said that she needed to go home and print out the confirmation.

Just spend more time looking for drugs and less trying to decide if someone who is twenty, not trying to drink, and showing you a Cali DL is old enough to get into an 18+ party. I have a funny feeling the ticket problem and my problem were the same guy. Everyone else outside was nice.
