I'd assume it's because of the deal they made with the RIAA which said they'd only allow music by artists that had specifically made a deal with or agreed to have their music hosted on AG...because nobody has done anything like that yet everything is blocked.

I agree with what TU-face said... AG has NO future whatsoever. Boo!

My concern is that it may not necessarily be the best.
Of course, it's better than nothing -- much better. However, it seems that the selection of tracks will suffer. The available songs will mostly be overhyped tracks that are constantly discussed here on TA, such as Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun and M.I.K.E.'s productions. Why? Because these are the MP3's that the TA's have, and many others are interested in.

Meanwhile, there are lots of excellent tracks that go unmentioned here on TA -- and some people, such as myself, are interested in getting. For example, nobody here really cares about German Trance (labels like Axwax/Drizzly, Harem, Kontour, Dos or Die, etc.), lesser-known but excellent uplifting and melodic anthems. My guess is that nobody will have these great MP3's on the DC hub, especially the new ones.

Vesa, I'm SO glad we have the same tastes!
Indeed, AG used to have everything that we wanted -- even the brand-new releases.

Unfortunately very few people here are aware of the beauty and power of German Trance. But, at least I've found one other person. We need to find some other people and form our own little group, to make sure our favorite music is represented!!!

The sad thing thing is AG's silence to its user base...today is the 1st day I've seen anything on their website about being shut down (June 22nd). They have a link called "The future of A.G." and want its user base to vote on the direction it wants A.G. to go.

But to another subject. Now that everyone has abandoned AG, it won't hurt if I reveal a plan I had devised to overcome a case where almost all tracks get banned on AG. People would just have entered the lengths of tracks they want to share on a common non-AG server. When someone would have wanted to dl a track, he would have looked up its length in the non-AG track database, fabricated a dummy mp3 file with the right name and length, and then sent the song to his other account to start its download from a real mp3. I don't think RIAA would have seen this as such a big problem to do something about it, so AG might have let this practice continue.

Yeah that's the same with the latest progresive releases. I doubt that the DC hub will have much progressive stuff, just your basic uplifitng trance and live sets. Same goes with rare progressive live sets, AG used to have many of them.

Tracks that TA's probably share on the DC hub:

1. Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun
2. DJ Tiesto - Flight 643
3. DJ Tiesto - Lethal Industry
4. M.I.K.E. - Tranzy State of Mind
5. Minimalistix - Close Cover
6. Svenson & Gielen - We Know What You Did
7. Marco V - GODD

yeah, so true. that's one of the main reasons why i don't wanna join the hub verminator, misiek, bellie, me + maybe a few others would be the only ones who'd have techno trax to share... so i think it would be kinda pointless for technoaddicts to join it oh well...
