As much as I dislike the tunes Hawtin plays, I appreciate he is actually focussed on the music and is looking for ways to evolve as such. Watching those vids made me see him in a different light.

I have never been a fan of Halliwell tbh. Technically he is pretty on the ball, but the "crowd interaction" is fucking cringeworthy.

Well Hawtin also plays other peoples tunes. The difference is that hawtin is a respected producer and DJ. Eddie is just a douche DJ.

I always thought these hawtin videos were pretty cool. Mainly because I was there and it's still to this day the best set I've seen him play..

Plus you can see me for a split second kicking about with an orange t-shirt in the first vid..





Hawtin's tunes these days are pretty fuckin rotten tho it has to be said. While i respect that he's pushing technology, I think he's become so focussed on trying to piece together two or three loops to make a new track or sound, he has forgotten he could actually just play decent music in the first place, something I don't think he's been doing over the last year or two...

When i listen to sets of his like the glasgow, montreal and hong kong sets compared with recent ones it's incomparable. The energy in these early sets just isn't there these days (IMO)

With the stories of his early Gatecrasher-days in mind, I think you can be pretty sure that Eddie is completely wasted in the videos of him spazzing out as well.
