Hehe... I knew Id get flamed for saying that.. I think i need to explain a bit more..
Of course I know that football isnt all about offence. I come from Sweden for christ sake. And defence have always been our national teams strength. But that doesnŽt mean I like it.
I, personally, appreciate attacking football a lot more than teams concentrating on defence. This World Cup has seen many the of European footballing superpowers go straight out of the tournament for concentrating on defence. Germany has succeded in their defensive tactics and have gone all the way to the final, although with a great deal of luck and much because their superb keeper Oliver Kahn. The games agains Paraguay and especially against USA was not really safe wins even the most german of football enthusiasts has to admit (like Kaiser Franz said).
I like to watch football beeing played with flair, technique and pace. Teams like Brazil, Argentina and France (not just talking about this WC) are entertaining to watch. I havenŽt been entertained one single game by Germany, although I have to admit I missed their opening game. THIS is why I wouldnŽt enjoy seeing them win the tournament. I think attacking and daring football should be rewarded, especially in this day and age where more and more teams seems to be focusing on defence.
Germany will have a hard time in the final without Ballack, who I really admire btw.
