photoshop is fun stuff. illustrator is what pisses me off.
the way i learned it was simply doing tutorial after tutorial. google is your best friend in this case, 'photoshop tutorials' will suffice as a search.
yeah, you'll usually only learn one cool manipulation at a time, but to get to that, you'll use most of the tools, & learn how they effect one another. over time it becomes second nature, & the tools that once seemed complicated turn out to be rather obvious. plus, there's a lot of different ways to do the exact same thing, it all depends on your preference.
