Oh yes, I forgot about the whole price difference between the 7506 and the HD-25. The HD-25 is mostly found with a straight cable, which is slightly microphonic. If you scratch or tap the cable with your finger you will hear it, but if you have anything playing you won't hear it. The straight cable is made of steel which makes it durable, but at the cost of tinny or bright highs. Supposedly the coiled cable (which has a copper core) sounds less bright, but the replacement cable alone is about half the price of the cans anyway. The coiled cable doesn't terminate in a right angle plug like the straight cable (go figure), which I like because it doesn't stick out as far. If you do want the coiled HD-25 version, you should look for the HD-25c.
The RPDH-1200's are the closest to my 'ideal' cable- coiled, detachable, and terminated in a right-angle adapter.
