i personally value a dj who has both a deep and broad knowledge of music, and i dont't bother listening to sets that are just full of tracky club music

Something I have found in my experience is that warm up sets tend to cater better to the mixing of genres than the main set of the night. If people are up and dancing I tend not to mess with the vibe too much but will happily switch between trance, tech trance and techno although essentially as genres they are not disimilar to each other.
