Can't wait. Love Anderson and Forrest both. Would be cool to see Forrest take it, but I doubt it.

MMA has definitely seeped its way into mainstream culture here in the States, and it's gaining popularity worldwide. Michael Bisping, for example, is English, so I'm sure he has a nice little following over there.

Forrest is going to get embarrassed if he doesn't land a lucky punch in that first 1:00-1:30. Should be fun to watch & laugh.

Forrest has been looking better in the last few fights, but he is no where near anderson in striking. Which leaves Anderson's only possible weakness, the ground. Good luck Forrest, hopefully he doesn't play into what everyone wants him to do and walk into a bunch of silva punches and knees.

Florian is such a nerd, he just isn't tough. He seems like a kid brother getting beat up on. but he has been on a win streak, unfortunately BJ is unstoppable at 155.

BJ and Anderson decent card.

Thats going down right up the street for me. Id love to see Barnett win...but its Fedor.

I think Silva will wrap this up rather fast for some reason and I always root for BJ.

Would love to see Kenny win this, BJ has been getting on my nerves for a long time. Too much whining.
I think Forest will get beat, but I will be cheering for him. He is training out of one of the best camps out there at couture, so he has that, and his weight going for him (and heart!).

To the german, yes it is very popular here. Easily three nights a week that you can find mma programming on tv. Starting to get a little coverage on espn, and if that wasn't enough, a former UFC HW champ was on 'celebrity rehab'.

I need to play it safe!" attitude, where Forrest will walk in and do what you need to do to Anderson: fight him.

He hasn’t had any recent losses. His last loss was to Okami because of an illegal kick and the one before that was 2 years before the most recent loss which was in 06.

Forrest will push the fight, that’s about the only advantage he has. Anderson’s striking and clinch game is the best in the world. He’s a black belt in BJJ, he can take the fight there also. He destroyed Irvin when he went up in weight.

Feel bad for Forrest; he’s going to get his ass handed to him.

I didn't mean the losses were recent, just the most recent losses.

And I still say that Okami disqualification is bullshit

"Affliction: Trilogy" Fedor Emelianenko vs. Josh Barnett headliner could be scrapped

With just 10 days remaining until the long-awaited heavyweight matchup, the "Affliction: Trilogy" main event between Fedor Emelianenko (30-1) and Josh Barnett (24-5) is likely to be scrapped.

Barnett is unlikely to be licensed by the California State Athletic Commission after potentially failing a drug test, as first reported by Sherdog.

Barnett, who reportedly denied any usage, could be replaced by Vitor Belfort (18-8) at the event, which takes place Aug. 1 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

In an email to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com), a representative from the California State Athletic Commission said the regulatory body would issue a statement today. Affliction Vice President Tom Atencio could not immediately be reached for comment on Wednesday morning.

Although he's won four consecutive fights, Belfort has recently been competing as a middleweight and even reportedly turned down a "Trilogy" bout with light heavyweight Gegard Mousasi because he didn't want to move up a weight class. However, he'd move up two weight classes to fight Emelianenko, though the payday is likely to be much greater.

Belfort is currently scheduled to fight surging middleweight Jorge Santiago on the event's main card, so a Belfort-Emelianenko booking would spoil at least one main-card bout from the pay-per-view broadcast, barring a last-minute replacement.

The Emelianenko vs. Barnett matchup had long been promoted and was the featured attraction at an event that could determine Affliction's future in the fight business. The potential loss of a main event between arguably the No. 1 and No. 2 heavyweight fighters in the world would certainly be a blow to the event's marketability.

If it turns out Barnett did fail a drug test, it wouldn't be the first time. The 31-year-old defeated Randy Couture to win the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 36 in 2002, but he was stripped of the belt just months later after the Nevada State Athletic Commission announced that Barnett had tested positive for an anabolic steroid. He never fought in the UFC again. However, when speaking to Sherdog, Barnett said he plans to "clear his name" if the latest CSAC test comes back positive for drug use.
