you realise its not the digital 8 bus right?? what do you mean by lack of resolution.?? its an analog desk which i monitor on. the signal i am processing through the outboard gear does not run through it... and its not really noisy either...

it's the analogue 8-bus I've worked with both the 24 and 32 version for many years. not a bad budget desk, but definitely not suitable for mastering. it has excited lows, warm mids and soft highs. there is a rather high noisefloor of around -30db with all inputs idle on unity
and the amplification of the monitor section colors

one would either look for a passive monitor controller (i.e. nanocontrol) or a decent active one like the SPL 2control.
