Bump

Stef I'd like to see that too. Mid bass is one of my favorite parts in trance.

Thats nice, same thing I do it looks like.

Only problem is I'm getting sick of the shallow sound vsts give for bass. The one song that was posted by Forbes, theres no way that bassline is any vst I know. I wanna know what else these pros are doing to their bass to get that deep rich sound. Am I crazy or do none of them use softsynths in their music?

Distortion, Tube Amps, Overdrive, Chorus, Phasing, Flaging, Delay, Reverb.

Could be any one or a combination of those. Usually a combination.

Im not a pro and I don't normally produce this kind of electronic music anymore but..

Check it

is this kinda what you guys mean?

That activa remix is defintely a very typical retrigger sawtooth bass.
Layered with a sine/sawtooth bassline that plays at the lower octave.

Heres some sample I did in FL , using Predator and Sylenth1.
(No I didn't try to recreate the activa remix , I just tried to
create some very typical uplifting trance basslines.)

1st one , pretty simple , All I used was one instance of both Sylenth1 and Predator , only mid bass here , coupled with some Vengeance samples.

2nd one , sounds abit similar to the 1st one , but with sub bass and lower bassline

3rd one , this one is abit harsher , the 'harsh' sound Is made by Predator..

Enjoy!
