I started 6 months of an Arts degree after I finished HS, then deferred the course for 3 years while I went backpacking around UK, EU and Africa. Had the best fucking time ever.

Came back to Oz after that, changed my Arts major to a double major in Psychology, and graduated in 2005. In my graduating year my gf and I randomly started a small graphic design/printing/media (less emphasis on the media part these days though) business, and that's what we're still doing now.

What would I like to be doing? Photography. Full time. But, I just don't have the time, sadly, so for now it's just a hobby. One day maybe

I'm all over the map. Went to college and grad school, and finished with degrees so contrasting that they don't go together. Run a couple different business with a couple different partners now, yet I find myself all the time wondering if I should make a career change and start something else totally different. I get bored easily.

i graduated on time, and then got this great idea to move out and become mr. independent/give the finger to my parents. so i got a dead-end job as a machine operator full-time and moved out with a few different friends, bouncing around from house to house. i paid for school by myself and went part-time. later i got trained to be a MIG welder and i've been welding ever since.

three years later, i graduated from school with an associate's degree and also got fired from my job. i thought i was going to get a job at a big GM plant in town, so i once again gave my superiors the finger- the problem is, i failed the hair follicle drug test for GM and ended up being unemployed. i moved back home for a couple months, then decided to move to milwaukee and attend school there for my bachelor's.

found a job welding within the first two days of checking out milwaukee and i've lived here ever since, working and going to school as i always have. i've been in college for 6 years but only have about 3 years of my bachelor's degree completed.

do i regret moving out right away and working? no, it taught me a lot about surviving with a limited income, saving, and stretching money when needed. i'm also glad that i never got the GM job, because as everyone knows, the plant went under this year and i'd be without a job or an education. that and i've made the most important connections in my life with people that i've met in milwaukee.

i plan on moving out of this town soon though always gotta go bigger and better i suppose.

tl;dr: i've been working full-time and going to school part-time since HS graduation, i've moved a countless amount of times and plan on doing so again.

What the fuck is an associate's degree? I don't understand that about the States. Up here anything less than a bachelor's is just a diploma or certificate.

ha, nah it ended up being all good. life ended up working out much better for me by NOT taking the job, and i learned an important lesson about not burning your bridges until you're certain you can do so. i pretty much did the half-baked "fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, i'm out" thing at my old job before i actually got the drug test results back from the new job

looking back, i'm glad i told both of my bosses to fuck off. they were the biggest pieces of redneck honkey shit i've ever met in my life.
