What sort of price, condition, needles etc are they in?

Any other equipment you'd be selling?

Thanks

theres also the buy n sell

www.buysell.com

Thats in Vancouver.. they got some good deals, but it's used eqipment. I don't see that as a problem though.

I'm just starting out and looking to buy a pair of decks, but I dont want to buy anything other than technics because i fear that they will suck and i will be left with the feeling that i wasted my money (for example, stanton, gemeni.. i heard those are not so good. i would go for the cheaper deal, which is stanton, but i dont know.. any problems with stanton?)

-edit: after just looking at the stanton website i think i'm gonna go after the STR8-100 (or buy the platinum pak with the STR8-80) instead of 1200s

No offence to peeps with stantons but I have used them and they suck ass. Buy 1200s. This is what people preached to me including professonal DJs. You go to clubs what do you see? , raves what do you see? You might as well buy the industry standard because its not the industry standard for nothing. My friend bought str8 80s and he returned them after a couple months and all I said was I told you so.

Anyways I am not trying to sound like a dick but this is my advise. I am glad I took this advise from others, I am just trying to help.

hmm.. i dont know. i was reading some reviews on the st-100s and they rack up pretty high. they say, they are top competitors with the tech 12s. i know that 12s are standard in clubs and everything, but i dont have the money to go for the techs, as much as id like to. thats why, after reading all the reviews, i thought i would go one below the technics, and right now i think its those stanton st-100. i don't know if you're familiar with the new stuff incorporated with these tables, but they're pretty good (higher tourque! which i heard was a problem with the older models. thats why now its a competitor with the 12s)

thanks for the input, it's always appreciated, and encouraged. you guys know whats good or not around here, i'm just starting out as a bedroom dj so do you think those are worth buying for a starting out bedroom dj? the stanton st-100

Well TrancerbianMan the ST-100 is a looks like a pretty sweet deck. Call me old-school but the St-100 is digital with all these fancy options it is basically a CD player that plays records. But I must admit is does look cool.

I recommend trying out both for a week, rent if you have to and decide from there. It is a tough choice nowadays and I didn't have as many options to choose from.

Buy what you want to buy but first ask people what they recommend.(DJs, record store owners and people who just know what they are talking about) Be careful who you ask at music stores because alot of these guys don't know shit about DJ equipment.

Well they will all just recommend me the Tech 12's.. but do I really want tech 12s if I'm just starting out? Thats my dilema. Do I really want to spend that much money just so I can have the best equiptment, just so I can spin in my room or at some friend's party once in a while?

-P.S. about how much do you think it will cost me to rent? In there area where I live there really aren't many, if any, shops around so I would have to travel up to Toronto.
