if you can't watch them till Sunday you could usually see the fights from this site mmatko.com. They have them posted most times the next morning.

There is no way Kenny is coming even close to submitting BJ tomorrow night. BJ is the best jiu-jitsu guy in the sport right now.

That being said, I am pulling for Kenflo to find a way to beat him. If he does, I see it coming from solid standup though.

Someone with the best jiu-jitsu in the sport should have been able to handle GSP a little better then he did, don't you think?

yeah you gotta take into account what the fighters enter in @ gsp comes in more then likely at close to 200 bj more then likely 175-185 tops. Weight plays a big part in fights nowadays. Even more so with g.s.p. He's so much bigger then all the other welterweights with the exception of anthony johnson that played a big role against bj.

I understand the whole weight thing. I wrestled in high school and trust me, even 5 lbs could make a huge difference. I still don't find that to be an excuse for someone who is supposedly "the best." Especially if it is in jiu-jitsu and they were on the ground for most of the match. In my opinion, Penn is nowhere near the best in that style of fighting today and that's why GSP rocked him and why he could potentially be rocked again tomorrow night.

Thats not really a sound argument. Jiu-Jitsu is only 1 facet of MMA. You take a guy like Bj Penn, who is naturally a 155 pound fighter, and put him against THE BEST 170 pound fighter in the world...one who people refer to as a freak athletically. Being the best BJJ guy is only going to take you so far against a guy like GSP.

My original point is that Kenflo is not going to be able to beat BJ in that specific area of MMA (via submission). Kenny has a black belt in jiu-jitsu as well, but he is nowhere near on Penn's level.

that's a good point as far as bjj goes he's not anywhere close to bj. I'd honestly be suprised if he even takes bj down.

Perfect example to why this doesn't make sense...

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira...

His run in Rings and eventually Pride was just submission win after submission win. People said he was the best submission guy in the sport, and at the time, it was probably true.

Along comes Fedor...

Despite how great Nog was on the ground, he could never put it together against Fedor, and they fought 4 times. Fedor just dominates the heavyweight division, much like GSP does at welter weight.

Penn is a little different than Nogueira, in that he is more well-rounded, and doesn't always rely on getting submissions to win. But make no mistake about it, he is more talented on the ground. The guy won the Mundials (World Championships) after only 3 years of training, which was unheard of. Thats where he got his nickname, "The Prodigy."
