that is *completely* illogical. so because other issues have proven false (or not been proven true), you stop listening and refuse to consider evaluating THIS issue on its own merits?

thank fuck you're not in a position to make any decisions of consequence in our society.

what consequence is there for you to come on here and call bullshit or give an opinion with zero basis in factual analysis? none. it's pretty easy to be a critic...but quite another to actually put in the time and effort to arrive at an educated opinion, never mind be in a position where you will be held accountable for the opinion you put forth.

you're right...the 'boy who cried wolf' resulted in people no longer listening. except we all know how that story ends (which you fail to apply to the current situation).

so apply that lesson here. after several non-issues, he public will get stop listening and will become sick of allocating resources on such matters. then when something happens, we're fucked?

fantastic.

the better position to take is to reduce/eliminate the cause/likelihood of false cries...not to stop listening to all cries until it's too late.

that's not fear mongering...it's common sense.

Firstly... Why do we need 50.4 million doses when we have 33+ million in population???

Secondly... I thought it was one dollar per dose so why the high price tag???

I agree we need to reduce the false cries. But until then i am largely ignoring the scare mongering. If a pandemic as bad as they claim is coming there is not much we can do about it anyways. Hand sanitizer isnt going to cut it. The culture of paranoia is ridiculous. Especially when there are places in the world where one truly should be paranoid about the bad things happening. For example, I for one would be a lot more concerned about north korea if i were japanese or south korean than i would about a strain of the flu

Just "in case" we need 2 doses... oh and the inflation probably goes to pay off whoever is in cahoots.

This whole thing stinks top to bottom

It's a legitimate pandemic, it's just that the word "pandemic" doesn't say anything about the mortality rate. If you wouldn't normally get a flu shot, then you're not putting yourself at any greater risk by not getting a swine flu shot. However, if you do get flu shots, because you're old or have a weak immune system or whatever, then you'll probably want to get a swine flu shot as well because it's a different kind of flu.

Doesn't really seem like that a big a deal on either end. Yes, the scare has been largely overblown, but it's hardly pork either (pun intended).
