doing demos for sony GPS units at a circuit city... it paid decently for part time and i was pretty much unsupervised but other than that it was so damn awkward.

it was a smaller store in a mall and the GPS units were right by the entrance, which was about 12 feet wide. i just had to stand around wearing my bright orange sony shirt and try to get people to take a look at the features of them. 90% of the customers entering to buy would come up and ask me if the store had x product, and i would explain i was just there doing demos for sony and to ask someone else... when i actually did get someone to look at the gps they'd ask about comparing to garmin and tomtom units and i'd have to say i'm not allowed to discuss them, just sony's. the worst was on one of the days i went, the 2 good sony models were sold out and i was stuck trying to hustle the one shitty outdated display model. i got someone to buy that and went home early without pay for the rest of the hours, and i didn't get comission. the job actually would have been less annoying if i had the full responsibilities of a sales clerk

The most amazing part of this story was that you liked eating at Steak & Shake.

I was once dared to add some weirdo called arcadia to msn & get pictures of his sister. It was a painful process but succeeded.
