The cost is going to be $1300+tax.

That's a lot for a relatively simple mixer, but I think it's an incredibly stupid move to remove the phono's.

A lot of mobile Dj's still rely on vinyl for older music so this mixer only works for a potion of the market.

If this is pioneer's attempt to try to kill off turntables (becuase they don't have that in their line) then it's a major fail.

i dont understand why anyone needs to mic inputs with separate controls from everything else? own low, mid, high etc etc. it could just be a fully operating channel with a mic selection option and be a 6 channel mixer instead? does anyone actualy mix 4 songs at a time and then sing with two mics on top of that????

in my 7 years of mobile djing, i never used a turntable

all the old stuff is available on cd

the keyword here is mobile, lugging around all that gear along with a turntable or 2 AND records just isn't an option

this mixer along with a dual unit cdj in a flight case paired with a set of active speakers is a godsend, you want as little pieces to lug around as possible

as for the mics, in a wedding situation, you'll have one for the MC and one for yourself, plus whoever would be coming up to speak isn't going to all sound the same, being able to tweak the eq to each speaker's sound will create a better end product

That's strange? Every mobile jock I've ever known takes a crate of vinyl (at least with them). Yes, if it's a smaller one they don;t bother, but with the big weddings and private events they nearly always have had a full DJ booth type setup. Usually with rack mount CD players but maybe because it's been a while and things have changed????

the cd sets i had with me, it wasn't needed, i had every piece of popular music from the 1940's to the present

i always worked by myself, the less trips i had to make from the van to the venue to set up, the better

i only dreamed of having a flight case with a rackmount mixer and cdjs

i used to have to lug around big passive PA speakers AND a big heavy amp, then my boss finally wised up and bought eons

of course a xone 92 is my fav mixer, but coming from a mobile djing background, i can see how this update on the 3000 is much needed, i wouldn't buy it myself unless i decide to get back in the mobile game
