whats that $800 dollars vs $3,200 for the new cdjs that doesnt come with effects or filtering

You're an idiot. The cdjs have MUCH better sound and dynamics. 20 hz to 20 khz. Traktor definitely does not go that far either way. And I stopped using my cdjs in favor of Traktor.
If you can see the full waveform like on Traktor on these cdjs I'm in from day 1. Pretty much the only reason I've been trying to sell my 1000's.

Bah, considering you can't even buy tracks higher then 44/16 (CD audio quality), there's not much point in discussing sound quality differences between the DAC's in the CDJ vs audio 8. CDJ's sound great, the audio 8 sounds great. Move on.
I don't think we are going to be TOO surprised with this announcement:
1. A new CDJ
2. All the features of the CDJ-400 in a CDJ-1000 sized unit, MIDI, USB storage support, HID native mode support in Serato and Traktor, integrated sound cards.
3. A much much better track browsing function then what is on the CDJ-400 for navigating USB storage.
What I don't see happening:
1. Elimination of the CD-drive. This doesn't make sense. For this deck to be installed in clubs, it definitely needs to play audio cd's. There are still tons of people using them, and it's not ready to go away this generation. Plus, many MANY clubs won't be running out in this economy to spend $3000+ on new decks, when their existing CDJ-1000's work just fine. CD's will be around for a while.
2. Integrated hard drive. At this point in time, why bother? Moving platter, added expense, and why have a drive full of music installed into a club player? USB storage is dirt cheap. Grab a thumb drive or an external hard drive, plug it in at the club, done!
What I'm curious about:
1. Just how ridiculously priced it will be, considering the price hikes of the CDJ-1000 MK3 (although, maybe that's really driven by Pioneer slowing production?)
2. Whether this will be a merge of the CDJ and the DVJ. If it has an LCD screen on it, wouldn't it be nice if it could play video too?
3. Whether they'll support more audio formats, including high resolution audio formats. FLAC would be great.
4. Whether you can share a USB audio device across multiple players.
5. If they'll finally add nice tight auto-looping.
