midi controller with dvs and audio8dj has a bigger soundstage, dynamics, bass, highs, than any cdj that will come out for the next year or so. Why waste 1500 + on something that is worse including burning cds everytime a track comes out. When you can get a midi controller for $100-200, audio8dj 400$, traktor pro $200.

whats that $800 dollars vs $3,200 for the new cdjs that doesnt come with effects or filtering

DVS-Quality
CDJS-Digital Bullshit

You're an idiot. The cdjs have MUCH better sound and dynamics. 20 hz to 20 khz. Traktor definitely does not go that far either way. And I stopped using my cdjs in favor of Traktor.

If you can see the full waveform like on Traktor on these cdjs I'm in from day 1. Pretty much the only reason I've been trying to sell my 1000's.

wtf are you talking about?

The Dac in the Audio8Dj is superior to the MK3. In order to a play song, a track has to be burned onto cd, hence converted to Wav or you can keep mp3. Why play cd format when you can play tracks straight from the hardrive than converted to Analogue, no cd writing process involved. Another thing cds get damaged, computer music files don't get scratched. Another thing. The cdjs don't even have a headphone output meaning your not truly hearing whats coming out of them cuz its connected to another component (mixer) but with audio8dj you can connect them straight to the dac. More dynamics, less noise, bigger soundstage. Its bus powered no noise from power cables like you would from cdjs.

Edit: Audio8DJ specs

Frequency Response 10 - 40kHz
CDJ1000 20 - 20kHz like you said

LMAO ^^

clearly some has yet to do their homework!

edit: i really can't see how pioneer can come back from having the cdjs pretty much go obsolete. what can they possibly bring that isn't already covered?

I mean I'm just assuming by what the video says. Zabiela keeps mentioning how you won't need to be looking at a laptop and interacting with the crowd more or whatever.

If the screen is just like a laptop inside a CDJ, then isn't that basically the same thing?

Save yourself and delete your profile.

I mean i know that YOUR opinion is that Audio8DJ is amazing like unicorns with flame shooting out of their face's...but have you ever really done your correct research on this subject?

Not to mention ever look at the list of people who use the MK3?

Its oh...i dont know...EVERYONE!? Plus a select handful of DJs.

There's probably a reason that the 1000s are the standard, maybe you should google it some more.

Do some more research, come back with solid facts...then feel free to call me a newb.

I also own 2 1000s MK3s, and a DJM800, Live 7, and Sony Sound Forge.

I also have read all the manuals and specs and educated myself on what i own. I suggest u dig out that manual and read it over again.

Then come back with a valid argument.

Bah, considering you can't even buy tracks higher then 44/16 (CD audio quality), there's not much point in discussing sound quality differences between the DAC's in the CDJ vs audio 8. CDJ's sound great, the audio 8 sounds great. Move on.

I don't think we are going to be TOO surprised with this announcement:
1. A new CDJ
2. All the features of the CDJ-400 in a CDJ-1000 sized unit, MIDI, USB storage support, HID native mode support in Serato and Traktor, integrated sound cards.
3. A much much better track browsing function then what is on the CDJ-400 for navigating USB storage.

What I don't see happening:
1. Elimination of the CD-drive. This doesn't make sense. For this deck to be installed in clubs, it definitely needs to play audio cd's. There are still tons of people using them, and it's not ready to go away this generation. Plus, many MANY clubs won't be running out in this economy to spend $3000+ on new decks, when their existing CDJ-1000's work just fine. CD's will be around for a while.
2. Integrated hard drive. At this point in time, why bother? Moving platter, added expense, and why have a drive full of music installed into a club player? USB storage is dirt cheap. Grab a thumb drive or an external hard drive, plug it in at the club, done!

What I'm curious about:
1. Just how ridiculously priced it will be, considering the price hikes of the CDJ-1000 MK3 (although, maybe that's really driven by Pioneer slowing production?)
2. Whether this will be a merge of the CDJ and the DVJ. If it has an LCD screen on it, wouldn't it be nice if it could play video too?
3. Whether they'll support more audio formats, including high resolution audio formats. FLAC would be great.
4. Whether you can share a USB audio device across multiple players.
5. If they'll finally add nice tight auto-looping.
