i used to be only vinyl, but since i went digital, i mainly get vinyls if the track isn't released in digital or is white label only.

i only buy things that are either spectacular (art + music + collection worthy), or exclusive to vinyl. The rest is digital.

There isn't a category for me on the poll. I DJ with digital files and have just purchased my first vinyl. I have another one on the way that is vinyl-only, which is why I bought it (it's not the Tiesto-approved track, Jay). I don't have any turntables but I plan on getting some soon

I mostly buy vinyl, actually. Sometimes CD's, but if I can I'll get the vinyl version.

I have never bought a single digital file in my life and I don't plan on doing so any time soon either.

well.. MEGARESPECT for you, ma vinyl brutha

as for me, i converted to pure vinyl some time ago (about a year) and since then never looked back. since i don't dj anywhere, i just buy them for a collection

I used to own about 650 vinyls. Most (600) of them were hard trance (tracid traxxx, overdose, pulse)and hardstyle, but I sold them, cause good hard trance is pretty much dead and hardstyle doesn't have anything to do with the sound I liked in it back then (Uberdruck, early warmduscher...etc). Nowadays hs is pretty much the same boring song done by different people featuring some stupid mc shouting some lame ass shit on top of it.

Nowadays I have about 150 vinyls mostly trance (classics): http://www.discogs.com/user/ETJ_ (20 hard trance records not listed there). I also have about 100 CDs including albums and singles. I've never bought any mp3s or wavs.

Hope to buy more classic vinyl when I move back to Finland next summer.

considering i own a few thousand records you can go fuck yourself. Almost all major distributors in north america have gone bust, and if i continued to buy every single release that i wanted imported so would i.

go sit in the corner with your puny collection and think about it.

Built up a small collection of vinyl as of late. Getting a couple Technics either this weekend or next week, and I'll go from there.

For the time being, I see myself collecting and playing with vinyl for at least a little while. I do plan to get Traktor at some point in the future, so it'll be a combination of vinyl / digital.

I'm surprised by the results.. Didn't think there would be that many vinyl folk still out there. Then again a thread like this will get the support of Vinyl users but still it's nice to see

yea, that's the big problem with buying records in north america now, having to import pretty much everything if you want vinyl, that's why i stick to finding those rare white labels and tracks that stand out and i want to add to my collection

I still play 100% vinyl. It does kinda suck having to order from the UK now that aren't any good online record stores in the US. But, it works out to about $13/ record. My basic philosophy is if you are going to pay $13 for something it better be good. I see it as an added filter. I firmly believe a lot of shite I hear in clubs these days are the result of $1 downloads. People will buy a track because its cheap and they can, not because it is good. I figure if a producer or label doesn't think enough of their track to put the money into actually having it pressed then I certainly do not think enough of it to play it.

I still buy and use vinyl regularly..

If it's a strong release (2 or more good tracks) then I'll usually get it on vinyl as the mp3 equivalent won't be much less (if at all), if it's just one track off a release then I'll opt for mp3. still have thousands of vinyl in my room and garage from years gone by when my older brothers and myself bought them so they get a regular airing as well.

I recently started buying vinyl as more of a collection thing, I play with digital files. The only stuff I get is either vinyl exclusive or a release that I REALLY enjoy.
