i said i think it's unlikely that most pro's lack treatment. that's not the same as saying you have to have treatment because pro's do. anyhow...

they go hand in hand. If you're buying krk rockits or yamaha hs, then acoustics probably are going to be a major cbf. however, if you are buying dynaudio, focals and so on, you would be stupid to not put some money into acoustics (if your acoustics are not good, which they probably aren't). speakers only sound as good as the room they are in, that is the point. $1,500 dynaudios will sound like $400 krks in a poor room. in such circumstances you would be better off buying $1,250 monitors and putting $250 into your acoustics - then you have $1,250 speakers that sound like $1,250 speakers. make sense?
