Seems to be system dependant which is shit in itself, but i have to say i havent really had any problems with Cubase since i went totally 100% legit software a few years back.

I'm running C5 on a brand new PC built by Synergy, a music production PC product in which I have I7 chips. I'm using Steinbergs MRX firewire interface.
The main problem I have is a 15 minute period where I get a stuttering audio drop out, once every session - just once, about 4o minutes in, then I leave it for 15 mins and hey presto it fixes without restart or anything.
I've read tons of stuff on cubase.net, but so far no luck.
BTW - this stuttering period happens even if I then switch cubase off and say play a CD / DVD on the machine - so clearly THE STEINBERY INTERFACE / PC RELATIONSHIP WITH THE INTERFACE has a role here.
It's IMO something to do with buffering and heat. People say the usualy 'up your buffer' which of course is the first thing I ever tried, but clearly that is not going to be it because if it was then the drop out 15 minute period would happen more than once in a session, no this is something wierd.
Yes I've gone into BIOS and disabled everything (bar 1 important thing) - no joy.
Anyone who fixes this gets massive net sex from me - if they want it!
I would have to say that ever since upgrading to C5 I've had random issues most of which have been resolved by sifting through the manual and getting some suggestions from the forums. At the very least it has been running much smoother than SX2.
With that in mind, I'm curious if any of the C5 users here who have Waves plugs have tried automating them via the automation tracks. That's pretty much the only issue I'm having right now...I used to be able to automate fine in SX2 but for some reason C5 does not recognize any of the automation parameters for many of the Waves plugs in the automation track; for each parameter it just says "unknown" and the plug doesn't respond to any movements when the "write" button is enabled. Anyone come across this and/or know how to fix it?
