it took you 10 years to learn how to beatmatch... guess what its not important anymore. They made software to replicate beatmatching with the press of 1 button. I guess you would be the fool since it took you so long to "master" beatmatching while I can just get a program and with the press of 1 button, it equals to all your 10 years of sweat and tiinnitus.

They also have machines that help you breathe.. whats the point in doing it yourself?

Then why dont you save your money and buy an ipod and use their itunes DJ. That will not only save you money, but a lot of heartache too.

Good luck getting all your tracks beatgridded perfectly so they're all 'in time'.

Your set is going to sound like ass and I can guarantee that. You wont understand half the stuff you learn from trying to beatmatch.

Not only that but when you rock up to a setup that only has cdj's you'll have to say sorry i don't beatmatch i just click and press buttons.

But if I'm honest I don't hold it against you, at least you have the balls to just come out and say it. Why make life more difficult on yourself if you don't have to.

End of the day if you don't want to you don't have to.

Tony, your comment has no relevance to this guys question.
You've done it for 10 years as there was no other way when you started. The fact of the matter is he doesn't have to deal with it. So why should he?

Anyway, I still think you should learn the basics even if you're not very good at them they give you a good foundation. But suit yourself

nelly

I dont need to play on cdjs at live gigs. A lot of people use laptops for the same very reason it is so easy to beatmatch, All I have to do is bring my laptop, select a few good tracks and use the program to do everything... very simple.

People here are just pissed they had to "learn" beatmatching for 10+ years to master it when I can just get a simple program and press 1 button that will take the place of 10 years of practice. Like you said, why make it more difficult? Don't get pissed because you didnt wait for software to come out and took the long way to get things done, that is your own stupidity.

although beatmatching may be a waste of time with software being able to do it for you, but what happens when your at a gig and your computer craps out and stops working? obviously you'll try and trouble shoot your computer, but within that time no music will be playing at all? who's to say that your computer is completely toast? Are you just going to pack up and go home?

I'm almost positive that'll do wonders for your dj'ing career if you plan on having one.

1) does it have auto beatmatch sync?
2) it doesnt look professional. If I had a laptop, noone can really tell if it is a pro setup or amateur because a lot of big djs now use laptops. All I need is just a software to do the hard part for me and auto beatmatch and it is really easy to rock the crowd like a veteran dj when really I have just started djing.

Lol.. if youve ever been to a gig, no they dont have magic machines that hook up to your laptop and automatically work, they have turntables and CDJs that accompany the DVS for control. If you live in the US then they (clubs) mostly use serato, which does not automatically beatmatch for you. I use traktor and some tracks arent scanned correctly so they are given the wrong BPM. What do you do then? Pray to lord xenu?

It also doesnt look professional standing there doing nothing while music is mixed for you automatically. Make it easy and get a really expensive CD player and play someone elses prerecorded mix, youre pretty much doing the same thing except you wont be wasting as much money.

Your just pissed off you had to take the time to learn beatmatching while people who start out now can skip all of that and dont even need to learn it.

People use breathing machines when they are about to die and have no choice, either they get old and sick or they need life support etc.

New djs use software that has auto beatmatch not because they have no choice... but because they can skip the process of learning how to beatmatch which takes time to learn and already sound good right away. Therefore your comparison sucks.
