I agree. I know a lot of people like creating their own FX, but I don't. I'd rather use samples and layer them, add my own fx to them, etc. I get much better results in a fraction of the time than I would spend trying to filter white noise myself, while leaving me more time for other tasks that I find more important and time-consuming (e.g., melodies, arrangement, etc.).
