I don't really get what you are bitching about.

So, Mayor starts a program to try and encourage people to go with more 'green' alternatives and educate the public, and does it without a ban / by-law to enforce it - and you still find a reason to bitch?

And, because in your opinion Toronto does not have a "pollution problem", we shouldn't be trying to do better?

Using the logic of "Well, there are other Cities that are worse than us and have more smog days..." seems like shaky logic at best to argue that we don't have a pollution problem.

Jay: Stick to the serious issues, complaining about yawners like this one just breeds apathy. This is stupid and a waste of taxpayer money, but other than that it's not really harmful. Move along, nothing to see here.

Miller/Vaughan/Moscoe ballwashers (you know who you are): If you don't have anything intelligent to say in response, then consider putting a sock in it. A 90% useless thread doesn't warrant a 100% useless and content-free response. All you accomplish is to make yourselves look ignorant while bringing more attention to non-issues that would otherwise have just been ignored.

I don't really know if I agree or disagree with a ban... But two-strokes ARE brutal.

And I don't mind your threads, I don't get any political insight anywhere else lol... Not that I really ever seek it.

Although Miller's politics don't directly effect me immediatly, his ideas may be inherited by other cities. This is one of those policies where it is obvious he is trying to save face before an incredibly difficult electoral year, especially when there are rublings of a certainly provincial Liberal deputy running against him.

Miller's days in office are numbered either way.

Threat? What threat?

As for this "non" subject. It may not be much of an issue for some people. But I feel that pointing out every little step that is being taken to remove our freedoms is an important means to understand the greater scope of what is happening. The little things are what impacts us the most. Whether its lawn mower bans, smoking bans, plastic bottle bans, you name it. Yes alone it may be insignificant or a slight nuisance, but its the prevailing attitude that will eventually come back around to bite us all in the ass if it hasnt already.

As for Miller, he has already stated in the past that he would like to see a ban and IMO he is testing the waters with this program.

BTW an education program is information based in fact which is partially what happens here. But the government is going one step further already by using tax money to pay for "Incentives" and by ditching perfectly good gas powered equipment and buying new ones at taxpayers expense. Thats when education becomes policy and eventually law.

PS: I will post my opinions and it's up to those on the board to decide whether they wish to read them, "useless" or not
