As opposed to most of the ppl that have posted, I think trance is moving in the right direction. Everything that has anything to do with marketing becomes commercial. Its an up-and-down pattern, but trance is becoming more respectable in the eyes of those who disapproved of it before. So in otherwords you mean trance is being dumbed down for the mass public. I don't see how that's a positive thing.

Well Cosmic Gate is listed under Hard Trance under Wikipedia's list, and I know Wikipedia certainly isn't the most respected site but still that would fit into Cosmic Gate being perceived as Hard Trance by some people anyways.

They haven't been for a few years... Since Nic took over production or something.

I often wonder what the next big phase of EDM will be, for the past year or 2 I have been thinking that there will be a major influence of drum and bass and breakbeat in a lot of EDM, especially in a commercial sense. I'm not a particular fan of the genre, I just think it may be time for this particular type of sound.
