i think armin was using them at the zoo, when i saw the pic of the equipment, i thought they were dvd-js but he was using cdj 2000's.

im thinking about selling my mk'3 now before they deprecate a lot and get these when they get a bit cheaper.

I don't like them, but then again i don't like serato either. It's becoming to convenient and lazy. I enjoy the art of spinning with actual objects i can touch. That's just me though.

Go for the CDJ 900s. Almost the same thing and I believe a bit cheaper

Nope, they are DVJ-1000s, not CDj2000s

Sander K uses them in his live sets, not sure about other big djs. I definitely don't think they caught on like Pioneer was hoping.

DVJ-1000s are functionally identical to CDJ1000mk3 in every way for CDs - arguably better as they have a metal jog wheel not plastic. The screen is also angled so it is easier to see, and they are better laid out...they have the fwd/reverse loop feature, and an 'emergency loop' function.
And of course they have the funky light over the slot

The reason they arent used as often is purely down to the whopping cost.

We have 5 DVJs, and 8 cdjs.. but then it is a big club... the other two clubs i engineer at from time to time also have them.
Armin likes to use them too

Be nice to see them in use in NYC. I have a great Dan Tait DVD of his promo set of the DVJ's, just more multi media aspects for me...

of course Armin and other "biggies" get them for free - just so that Pioneer can slap "Armin uses them...". Because as everyone knows your DJ Mag position is down to what CD deck you use. So, Armin uses top of the line, that's why he's #1. If Tiesto could afford to buy decks more "upscale" than shitty behringers, he'd still be #1. But he couldn't afford them because he blew (ha! get it?) all his money on coke.... or was it Oakey? Does it really matter? I'm off to Guitar center to buy a pair and $7000 mixer. I'm RICH (AND SOON TO BE FAMOUS), BITCH!

These are going to sell at $1600 each, not $2200 which is msrp. Still kind of high, but I'll sell my cdj1000 MK'2 for them.
