Thinking about this way too much. Real life is not as clear cut, thankfully.

Everything is viewed through a point of view, an angle that determines how we will perceive things with music, its good to take a step back whenever possible and look at things differently.

When I look for music now I don't really care what genre it's in or who made it, I just look for things that please my aesthetic.

There are a lot of people on TA who are undoubtedly cynical and jaded, but they specifically don't like new music and want everything to sound like it did in the "good old days". Where do they fit in?

Gonna go to bed, just some quick toughts:
1) The way people perceive music is too complicated to be described by just two categories. I couldn't myself into either of them.
2) I always pity people who seem to be so full of themselves and the "refined" taste that they apparently have forgotten how to enjoy music. Like when there was this thread asking if one would good to a Tiesto concert given free entry and free drinks. And I got the impression that there are people who can only enjoy themselves when there's just the right Dj playing just the right music with just the right crowd around in just the right location.
3) People should learn to value their own opinion at the highest and lowest at the same time. Highest because a track should be judged only by whether you enjoy it, as if your opinion was the only the only existent law and criteria. Lowest because you should always know that your opinion is just an opinion and those of other people are in no way better or worse, more or less refined and sophisticated that yours. Knowing what you don't know is a skill that can't be valued highly enough.

No, I'm talking about guys like Nostalgic here. They don't want things to sound original, they want things to sound more like they used to, because things used to be better.

That's where all Dad Rockers end up, and an increasing number of young people fast-track to. I find it strange how many 20-somethings are incredibly jaded about modern life, in the time they should be enjoying it the most.

They've barely been out of the womb five minutes and they're already getting nostalgic about the placenta.

There's a big difference between not being able to enjoy music and not WANTING to have to hear music I don't enjoy.

Which would be group B, you dont care what genre it's in, you're openminded and willing to dig to find what you are looking for.

Im group A , i will like what i like , and wont be told otherwise.

I am very open minded , but i will like stuff like Tiesto's adagio , simon patterson's Thump and deadmau5's faxing berlin and certainly wont listen to anyone on here that says otherwise , or anyone for that matter.

There isnt a song in history than no one hates , and if it's good and i enjoy it , thats all that matters.

And i certainly cannot be arsed wasting time telling people what they can or cannot listen too.

1995-2003 FTW!!!!!!!!!
