I wish there were no tracklists. At all.
You are so fuckin right.. I miss the days where I could go see a dj and not know anything he played, or where I would have to do a bit of work to find the name of a track. It's all become too easy and very very boring to me.
As for hawtings twitter dj app, I actually find it quite sad that people would want to know every tune a dj plays.

The good news is that if you don't want to know, you have the option to not use it.
the thing is richie does not need tracklists because he is richie.
a guy like me needs tracklists to hope that someone clicks download. Viva el internet. It has both positives and negatives. The positive is that i have access to more music than when i started buying records in the 90's. The downside, everyone has the same access

Tracks are never as good when you find out what they are called - fact.

The idea is fairly sound though, and it would be nice to have if you were actually there listening to it live. A lot of his ideas are ridiculous, but I don't see why this is in particular such a huge joke.
Yes, the one thing I've always wanted to when I'm on the dancefloor is check Twitter every 5 minutes.

Thats a little extreme, I wouldn't be staring at my phone waiting for the next update. would only really check it if I heard a track I had to have. (which would mean Richie Hawtin probably isn't the one playing)
Track listings respect the artists who actually write the music that most DJs play. It's all about data transparency.
I haven't had a chance to play with the app but it sounds very cool. Of course, you would really want to open a second Twitter account specifically for this application; it gums up your feed like crazy.
