Processing a highly structured and complex pattern of sensory input as a unified percept of "music" is probably one of the most elaborate features of the human brain.....understanding how music is perceived and how it may elicit intense sensations is far from being understood.

soundcard first without question - it's an absolute peice of shit and the drivers are even worse.

SP3 does lag a bit but not that much and not for the problems you're describing as your PC is more than powerful enough for decent DAW use.

Has anyone else noticed what Winston posts?

I've only seen three posts by him and all of them are utter turd.

Hmmmm..Alt me thinks?

Got it. I wondered how he was a supreme TA and knew nothing about the subject matter in hand.

If u don't have the money for a better sound card, then look for and download -asio4all its free, and will help with latency issues.

When you render the file make sure you leave some room at the end of the loop. If the loop goes on for 4 bars set the loop marker to 5 bars.

perhaps render some long cpu demanding synths to wav and use them them like that, tbh its probably because you've stacked a bunch of beefy synths together and they are raping your cpu.

alternatively downsample and work with the song in 22050hz then export it as 44100hz (this will make the final result sound different)
