Only interested if you can tell me how to make some cool deep house stuff, techno basses, better percussion etc

So over trance and I think a lot of people on here are.

hey,

The course wont be about creating a bass for this genre or a lead for that genre, its about techniques, procedures and the more technical side behind creating sounds from nothing, the process involved in layering, synthesis, sampling etc, actually how to put it together, the fundamentals if you will.

However i will have a small part of the course where i will show whats needed to make the basic "dance music" sounds although how deep this will go, ie bass for this genre and that genre i am not sure yet, i would rather give everyone the knowledge they need as a starting point, then let them learn and adapt from that, we shall see.

thanks

Mark

IceColdWater - sounds like Fm synthesis to me, delay, reverb etc and arppegiated, lots of filter envelope modulation unless they are just using the filter in manual automation.

Nice sound

agree...

not sure what is so hard about getting that rolling bassline which is in every second trance tune these days LOL

i think nobody knows what the hell sound design is anyway.. not that i'm an expert..

i would have a look if it was creating some really cool sounds and weird fx etc. as you already mentioned: sample mangling and semi-sound-scaping (but useable in a track, not like huge open spaces that are 10 minutes of crickets and wind) would be really interesting

The type of sounds i am talking about are your normal sounds, kick bass, leads pads etc but also things like explosions using real life sound layering.

But its not just this type of thing, i am also covering things like sample mangling using samplers to create whole new instruments and timbres.

Also i will be showing you how to create your own synths using Reaktor and synth edit (and probably karmafx synth) to create your own unique multi/single purpose tools.

I will also be covering synthesis types in detail and also more less known parameters in synthesis and their use, things like key follow and the like.

Also i will be showing the use of effects and audio manipulation to create unexpected and new timbres.

The course itself will not be about "sounds for trance" etc more like how to create sounds from scratch or unexpected material to gain a new and fresh timbre as well as deeper appreciation of audio manipulation in general, there will be a wide scope of subjects covered.

I am aiming to show/teach people how to be more creative in the use of audio/synthesis/sampling manipulation to be more original in their music. Also this course will be useful for sound to video as it will teach you how to create things like evolving timbres, sfx and the like.

Mark

Man I'd just like to say this sounds really promising... I'd love to check your tutorials out.

Keep up the good work!

Edit: I got a suggestion for you btw.. How to make something like the insane bassline of Nic Chagalls Hard Dub Re-edit of What You Need..:

Hi,

thanks for your interest and suggestions guys really appreciate it.

lenieNt Force - If you goto my website, www.cubaseguru.com and register there are around 4 hours worth of high quality video there you can download to check out. I also have quite a few other videos i could put up but they are relatively old, things like : Arpegiators, Virus TI automation, Battery, Cubase basic set up etc. They are very old and i am not really sure how much benefit they would be to anyone now but they are there and i would be happy to make them available if anyone wants them

Mark

Hi Guys,

Just a quick update.

The Sound Design "course" will now probably be split into 3 parts over 3 different courses. They will be :

1. Synthesis
2. Sampling
3. Effects & Processors

thanks for your continued support,

Mark
