That's funny that you say that; because I find this set a bit unsatisfying. While I felt my others have had a conclusive end, I almost regret that I didn't make this a two or three hour mix. To me, the final track feels like a potential bridge into a second hour of trancier, faster music. Glad you enjoyed it though; I'm happy with it. |
It's hard to top mixes like Contact/12 Hours/Mimesis. You're a talented DJ but it's hard to make each mix better than your last! I think it was good to stop the set where you did, I would way rather listen to a faster mix separate.
| quote: | | Thanks for the length review. All of this was mixed harmonically, at least to my ears. You may have felt the mixing was weaker than previous efforts because I went for far longer and more gradual transitions than usual, which potentially gives elements more time to clash. |
There were times when I was listening and felt like the transition had been banging out for a little too long, but it didn't feel rough at all, your mixing was pretty smooth but not as smooth as your previous efforts. Still good tho

I noticed that it became quite the trance set after the fifth track, but it still had a housey vibe. All the artists you played toward the end were trance/psytrance artists, but you selected lighter/groovier tracks. The tempo did pick up considerably and I felt that was very appropriate.

Yes, I do enjoy straight up psytrance... I played one of those toward the end of my set, I'm sure you will be able to tell which one it is
I appreciated this set, make a stomper next!
