He was nominated for "good intentions". How ridiculous... You don't award someone for what you hope they will do.

I lol'd at this earlier today when I saw it in the news! What do you expect though? Obama is the second coming of Christ after all.

then, for the sake of the minute credibility the award had, he better start solving international issues, specially that one war this country started.

Pretty bad decision imho.
In the scientific categories it is common practice to give to those people whose work has proven to be a valueable contribution over the years. Like the guys who won the physics prize for inventing the CCD some 40 years ago. Only after some time one can acknowledge the importance and scope of certain things. So I don't think Obama, who has been president only for a few months, should be given a prize when the importance and success of his doings is still very much unclear.
Probably the idea is more to commit him to doing more for peace and earn the prize by his future actions. But surely they could have found someone who already has done something worthy.

Agreed, after his first term he had better have cured cancer as far as I'm concerned.

What you guys do not understand is that the Europeans secretly had plans to invade and destroy the US if the Republicans had maintained control... So by Obama being elected he averted World War III...

There is peace in the world because the world is too busy arguing how win/fail Obama is.
