meetup? what meetup??
we really should have some sort of arrangements before attending events if we want to meet. or did you guys arrange privately, behind the forum?
i went there at 11:30pm, waited at the acid lounge until 1am. i was like an idiot, asking quite a few people if they were from TA...
me: "hey uhm... are you from tranceaddict dot com?"
them: "tranceaddict dot com? (*cackles) no."
me: "sorry, never mind."
-- until i realized what a fuckin idiot i was.
so i didn't meet anyone 'cept ali2002. meetup aside, i had a fairly good time. took some pictures, made a friend, met a few guys and their girls. i went insane when Oakey played Ferry Corsten's "Punk"...
me: "you paid 10 bucks for your photo being taken??"
him: "yea. it's a memory, why not?"
me: "heh, i could have done that for absolutely free, want me to do it?"
him: "sure."
(picture taken)
me: "i can e-mail you... YEEEEEOOOOOWWWWW!!!!!!!!!"
(danced to "Punk")
me: "hehe, sorry. i can e-mail you the picture if you like."
him: "nah, that's fine."
funny that most people were going because of Oakenfold, when Max played thrice as longer. i didn't care much about Oakey, though. i wasn't even really listen at all, and wanted to leave at one point. Max was absolutely brill, during the final hour he went more playful, and mixed breakbeat, house, and trip-hop (yes, it's Massive Attack's "Dissolved Girl", LOL) into his set. i was outside the orange room on the deck, next to a radge who poured water onto the people below. must be too fucked up eh?
i wasn't sure if i should post this pic 'cos (1) i looked horrible, (2) it's hosted on my computer and lately i don't have much bandwidth, (3) it looks kinda like i pasted my head next to Max. but what the hell, this is what you get when you're shooting yourself, and when the man himself is in a hurry.
wince, shriek, puke all you want. laterz.

well, whoever keeps saying that oakie is mellow and shit, has got to actually go and see him live for once... this was my 2nd time seeing him live and he ripped it up, again! he started off with some hard driving progressive in the first hour, the 2nd hour he just completely destroyed the place! max openned up great for him, really good openning set, hard driving tec-house i guess *shrugs*...
anyway, the crowd was the worst EVER! i guess cuz it was long weekend so all the wrong people showed up... *pukes* ... sooo crowded, i hoped at least with tix being 40 bucks they would limit it to a certian number of poeple... or at least have oakie in the kool haus! ... plus it was soooo hot in there, wow, it was never as hot in there as on sunday! what the hell happened to those huge fans!? i couldn't take it so i left right after oakies set... ugh!
so yea, was it worth it, meh, it was, just barely though
ps. dave, didn't know it was your birthday, happy bday dude!!

Sunday night was Max Graham's night at the Guvernment, In my opinion one of the best performances I have seen put on by a dj. He made my feet keep moving til 5:30 in the morning, yet the energy could not of possibly come from my body, it was all the music. I thought Paul Oakenfold did a good job too, I have to admit i expected him to suck, but he threw in some good tunes, not to mention "Obsession" by Tiesto, byfar the best song i heard all night. As far as the ginos i must comment on this and be reminded i am girl who doesn't mind lookin at a hot guy. Those dudes need to stay home infront of the mirror or go chill with the gay dudes in the kool hause because they took up much needed dance space and ventilation at the Guvernment. All in all, it was definately worth the drive and money, and i am glad i didn't miss it.

Well, since I have just realized that my UofT student account is still active (and my internet account with Rogers has been suspended for the last week or so), let me write a short review on this too...
Well, the night turned out just solid... nothing special, but not bad either. Oakie played some crazy ass tunes, and yes, Obsession by Tiesto was one of the highlights of that set. Maxie had an amazing hour after Oakie and then just went hardcore... that's when I decided to get the hell out of the main room, since my ears couldn't stand the noise, and I actually checked out the last hour of Dj Addy's set on the patio (it took me a while to remember that he was spinning up there)... that was followed by an hour of Mark Oliver's set on that patio, after which I felt a bit cold (around 6:30-7AM) and went back inside, for some more hardcore beats from Maxie.
The funniest things was Max dropping 'Snap - I've Got The Power' as the last song of the night (what a hell was he thinking even bringing that record with him?! HAHAHAHA!) And yes, it sure was one long night too, lasted until freaking 8AM! DAMN!
