I'm in exactly the same boat as you guys and there's no easy fix. Beatport has the best progessive selection but it does unfortunately mean trawling through tons of rubbish and a lot music, that IMO, is NOT progressive at all.

I just add all my fav artists to my profile and it has the nice touch of adding a little denotation to those that have brought out a new track since I last logged on - that's my first place to look, as well as added labels. If you do this firmly, over a long period of time, you'll find that between the labels and artsist you've selected, you spend a lot less time going through crap.....but then it's back in to the trawling again.
