i simply use cinder blocks and a piece of 3/4" thick plywood. does the trick just fine and was hella inexpensive.
15 cinder blocks and some wood was all it took.. 3 stacks of 5 blocks.

I just built one myself. It's high enough that I don't have to bend at all to mix. The table itself comes up to my belly button. Just finished the Cherry Satin stain last night.
I also have 3 levels on it for A.Records B.Amp and tapedeck and then C.Decks and mixer. I also built a Speaker stand with 2 4x4's, 15 inch square tops and 2 legs.
I'll have a picture up soon and I can also put up a pick of the plans I used and the amount of wood needed. All in all it cost me about 100 canadian dollars for the wood and paint etc.. I put it together with all screws for stability. If you have a drill and the bit for the screws you can throw it together in a few hours. With sanding and painting I'd say 4-5 hours work.
Wait till you see the pics, it's like having your own DJ booth at home.

I'll do my best. Might take a few days to get a digi cam to my house though.
