Fraggle, On board RAID cards are sweet, and the MSI that i'm getting actually has one, but the problem is, that unlike separate IDE RAID cards, the onboard RAID's uses roughly 1/7 of the CPU's power, meaning not as much CPU thinking going into games etc.
The TDK burner is expensive, but the reason i want it (god im a sucker for advertising) is cos it looks sick, and would go pretty well with the aluminium case. As for the aluminium case, i'm really not sure about it yet.. cos there are other one's which look better, but are a lot more expensive. I'm basing this computer marginally off this rig --> http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/review.php3?t=2195 and it doesnt look too shabby there
Seagate's are cheap now, that's why im getting them, and as for the optical mouse, the Kensington's really small (like fingertip control) and i like that in a mouse, easier than moving your whole damn hand about.
NIGHTERROR The Triplex card can be seen here --> http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/review.php3?t=2645 , it's AUS$340, which is rougly $170 American, and 130 pounds in the UK (although knowing the UK, it'll be the same price as Australia, just with pounds, hence 340 pounds)
But i cant really change much now, i've sent the list to my Dad whose gonna pass it onto some other goon to make it, we shall see
Ciao

Mmmm, that silver keyboard is pretty tasty, i'll look into that after i get the new comp, seeing i cant really change it now, as it's being built. Annoying part is, is the guy that we're getting to build the computer will say that it's all too much, and i'll end up having a 20gig hard-drive Ahh well, i'm hoping for the best... i just wanna play some new games.. i'm getting a bit sick of GTA1 and stupid dosgames, heheh
Later,
Pointy

hi
dont get the XP 2000+
it is too expensive
the XP 1900+ or 1800+ is a lot cheaper [ at least it is in canada ]
you have to watch for the price drops because
the top processor can be like $250
second best 235
third best $ 180
thats the one you go for
as far as the MB
get the Asus A7N266-C [ on board digital sound card ]
and for video
ATI all in wonder 7500 64 meg video card with TV out and remote
the MB is by far the most stable on the market and supports up to Athlon XP 2100+ CPU
has dual ram slots that if used double up the bandwith
ETC.......got all these right now and I love em
getting the Western digital 8 meg buffer HD because after having such a kick ass system its the HD that slows everything down
www.canadacomputers.com prices are good
MB - 158CND
CPU - 1800XP $179CND
Vid - 245CND
Kingmax pc 2700 ddr RAM 115CND
western digital 80 GB 8 meg Cache - 193CND
