It was good. I wouldn't say it was great or that you should absolutely see it, though. I felt like it was something that kind of stated what is already pretty obvious to most of us posting here. To the casual music listener or to the person that is new to independent music or whathaveyou, then it's probably recommended viewing.

ya it was alright, i didn't like how they focused so much attention on that one guitarist though. sort of seemed like this was a way to promote him

Agreed. He's a great example, sure, but they seemed to focus on that one core group of people (the label manager, the fact that it's Dave's label, etc.) and didn't put quite enough emphasis on the fact that his story can be matched by a lot of other artists.

I would also concur it felt almost as if the documentaries creators specific musical taste was being put on blast as what they were railing against.
