Damn, this is going to be a bitch of a night!

My arrangements:

Plane to London (300 bloody miles away!) at 8pm tonight.
Arrive at 9pm.
Wait around at the airport for 9 HOURS on my own
Get the 6am flight to Lubeck.
Arrive at about 8:30am.
Kill time in Hamburg/Lubeck for 10 hours on my own
And what's worse is I don't speak a word of German.

Lam, have you got a home number I can ring to sort stuff out? I hate to change arrangements so late but perhaps we could meet at Hamburg?It would save me 3 30 mile trips back and forth to Lubeck meaning I can spend the day in Hamburg.

If we agree a central Victoria-style busstop in Hamburg maybe? Does anyone know which bus I need to get from Lubeck to Hamburg, and where do they all arrive so I can meet DJ_Mdma?

Any help would be HUGELY appreciated, as things are pretty urgen, I leave in about 9 hours.

@Lam, if we don't manage to find a different place to meet, then stick with the airport OK? I'll be a fat git in a Newcastle United strip so I should stand out. I'll also be VERY tired

evil, there should be busses from Lubeck Airport to Hamburg. Just ask at the airport info, they'll speak english, maybe ask the stewardesses on the plane, too.
Afaik ALL buses from Lubeck arrive at Hamburg ZOB ´(zentral omnibus bahnhof = central bus station) which is in walking distance from main TRAIN station. There's also good shopping near the station in Hamburg and you can leave your bags in lockers.

for buses try searching this thread, I remember posting something more specific than this on page 2-8 or so....

Lam, it'd be a huge favour if you could make it to Hamburg's Central bus station. Your plane arrives at Lubeck at 7:05pm so if I wait there from 7:15 until whenever you arrive. Don't worry, by then I'll be used to killing time!

Neither of us knows what this bus/coach station looks like, but it's got to have a main entrance, so if I see you there would that be OK? I found this info on the net "At the entrance of the coach station on the corner of Steintorplatz and Adenauerallee stands a circular tower, built in 1940 as an air raid shelter, which today serves as a fast food restaurant." So if we can see that we know we're at the right place hehe.

I'll be wearing a Newcastle United t-shirt as arranged

Lam, from the bus station we will walk to the MAIN train station (called Hauptbahnhof) and get the S4 to Ahrensburg (usually track 5 or 6).

Oh and Lam, if you want to send me a message after 5 (when I'm gone), e-mail me, as I might be able to check my emails on those touch-screen internet things that are littered all over London. And if you feel stupid walking up to people asking if it is me, just ask for the time in English, and then I'll know it's you. Of course, if they don't know what the hell you're on about or they just give you the time, then it's obviously not me Likewise if someone comes and asks you the time in English, it is me!
