I actually find the opposite.
I've found tons of new stuff because of the recommendations people have made from this forum.
And because they knew what style of music I like, they were able to make recommendations of other simular artists I've never heard of.
The great thing is, I don't have to waste a ton of money and 'hope' I make a discovery (although, you're right, finding one makes you feel pretty damn good).
All I have to do is download a few tracks, listen and if I don't like, then I've saved a few bucks (ok lets be serious, MORE than a few bucks here) and hit the delete button.
Nothing worse than buying a CD to find out there only one, maybe two, good songs on the whole CD.
How many years have I had to put up with that!
If the artist has enough good material, I will go out and buy the CD to support the artist.
That only makes sense, to me.

ya, agree with Fir3start3r

i think...if u have the means to get some quality tunes & save yourself money...u're an idiot if u choose not to!

we're here also to help bring trance to a bigger audience so they can appreciate it...if someone buys some crappy music 'cos nobody's willing to recommend some quality, it's a loss

and yes, i love the recommendation threads too because it does give a chance to try some new (or old) stuff that otherwise you'd never get to experience

i can see it may get annoying if there's a flood of requests, but n00bs in any part of life need a helping hand & you shouldn't complain about people asking for help...it's not right when people discourage others asking for help
